EEWMP: An IoT-Based Energy-Efficient Water Management Platform for Smart Irrigation

Precision agriculture is now essential in today’s world, especially for countries with limited water resources, fertile land, and enormous population. Smart irrigation systems can help efficiently utilize fresh use the excess barren lands. management platform (SWAMP) an IoT-based smart project designed efficient freshwater utilization agriculture. The primary aim of SWAMP to auto manage reserves, distribution, consumption various levels, avoid over-irrigation under-irrigation problems, time maximize production. This research proposed energy-efficient (EEWMP), improved version SWAMP. EEWMP system that uses field-deployed sensors, sinks, fusion centres, open-source clouds. Both models’ performance evaluated energy consumption, network stability period, packet sent destination, delivery ratio. experimental results show consumes 30% less increases twice than be used different models such as drip irrigation, sprinkler surface lateral move subtle alterations. Moreover, it also small farms third-world their existing communication infrastructures 2G or 3G.
